Patrick C. Cunningham created the first ever BioArt Studio course at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, leading curriculum and laboratory development. The class explored intersections between human technology (biotech, genetic manipulation, urban agriculture, etc.), living ecosystems with their component organisms, and the Arts. Students learned the fundamentals of biotechnology and working with living matter within an arts context.
